Club de Fútbol Intercity is a Spanish football team based in Alicante, in the Valencian Community. The club plays in Primera Federación – Group 2, holding home matches at the Estadio Antonio Solana, with a capacity of 2,000 spectators.
History
Intercity was created in 2017 by changing the structure of GCD Sant Joan d'Alacant.
In June 2018, after being promoted to Regional Preferente, the club aimed to play in Tercera División by merging with Novelda CF but the Royal Spanish Football Federation rejected this.
Also that month, Intercity announced its intention to be the first Spanish football club to be listed on the stock market.
In 2019, Intercity were promoted to Tercera División as regional champion, thus qualifying for the first time for the Copa del Rey. After beating UD Gran Tarajal in the preliminary round, the club faced Athletic Bilbao in the first round, losing 0–3.
Le CF Intercity joue ses matchs à domicile au stade Antonio Solana, d'une capacité de 3 000 places. Le club est connu pour son style de jeu offensif et sa forte connexion avec sa communauté locale.
L'entraîneur actuel du CF Intercity est Gustavo Siviero, un ancien joueur international argentin. Le club possède une équipe de joueurs talentueux, dont l'attaquant vedette Mika Mármol et le milieu de terrain créatif Cristian Herrera.
Depuis sa création, le CF Intercity a connu une progression rapide dans le système de ligues espagnoles. Le club a remporté le championnat de Tercera División en 2018-2019 et le championnat de Segunda División B la saison suivante.
En 2022-2023, le CF Intercity a terminé à la 2e place du groupe 2 de la Primera División RFEF, se qualifiant ainsi pour les play-offs de promotion en Segunda División. Le club espère accéder au deuxième niveau du football espagnol pour la première fois de son histoire.
