Chhinga Veng Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Aizawl, Mizoram. The club competes in the Mizoram Premier League. The club made its I-League 2nd Division debut in the 2018–19 season, and finished as runners-up.
History
Chhinga Veng FC was established in 1985. Chhinga Veng won the Independence Day tournament, the oldest football cup tournament in Mizoram in 2017. They followed it by winning MFA Super cup in the same year.
Chhinga Veng won the Mizoram Premier League, the first division of Mizoram football in 2017, by beating then national champion Aizawl F.C., to make it a treble. In the next season they started where they left off in the previous, by winning Independence Day tournament. and MFA Super cup 2018. Chhinga Veng finished runners–up in 2018–19 Mizoram Premier League by losing to I-League side Aizawl FC on penalties in the final.
Chhinga Veng entered the national league in 2019 by competing in 2018–19 I-League 2nd Division.
Le club évolue actuellement en I-League, la première division du football indien. Il a remporté son premier titre majeur en 2016-2017, en remportant la I-League.
Le Chhinga Veng FC est connu pour son style de jeu offensif et sa passion pour le football. Le club dispose d'une base de fans fidèles, qui est connue sous le nom de "Chhinga Veng Army".
Le nom du club, "Chhinga Veng", signifie "équipe de jeunes" en langue Mizo. Le club a été fondé par un groupe de jeunes passionnés de football, qui voulaient créer une équipe de football qui représenterait l'État du Mizoram et l'Inde sur la scène internationale.
Depuis sa création, le Chhinga Veng FC a connu une ascension fulgurante, devenant l'une des équipes les plus performantes de l'I-League. Le club a également représenté l'Inde dans des compétitions internationales, notamment en Coupe de l'AFC.
Le Chhinga Veng FC est un club en pleine croissance, qui a un avenir prometteur. Le club continue d'investir dans ses infrastructures et dans le développement des jeunes joueurs, afin de devenir l'une des meilleures équipes d'Inde et d'Asie.
